Hi again everyone! I hope you're all doing well.
I've just come back from a very cold swim. I swim in the sea (the English Channel) most mornings and I've really started to notice a difference in temperature. I've set myself a target of swimming the whole year round in a swimsuit, but let's see if it happens.. With regard to the UK weather, autumn here is fairly mild but once we approach December, the temperature starts to drop. I am hoping for a white Christmas but it is unlikely here on the south coast. However, my mother lives in Yorkshire (in the north of England), and it quite often snows there. I'll keep you posted as we get nearer to Christmas.
Trying to warm up after my morning swim...
I imagine most of you are watching the World Cup. Of course my favourite team is England, but I also love Japan, having lived in the country for five years, plus I have a vested interest this time as I'm teaching English to one of your players! It was such a shame you lost to Costa Rica, but your win against Germany was incredible! Fingers crossed we both go through to the knockout stages.
One thing that many people have talked about on social media is how the Japanese fans always stay behind and tidy up the stadium after the game. We are all so impressed. I think the Japanese have such a strong sense of consideration for others and I remember when teaching in junior high school in Aso-machi, back in the 90's, how all the children would clean the school. I really think British school children would learn a lot from doing this. That's all from me for today, but please get in touch or leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you!
